The Lockridge girls promoted to the school the plight of children in Uganda who suffer from Jiggers (parasites which get into children’s feet causing pain and infection) an organisation called Sole Hope have created opportunities for people to host shoe cutting parties, people use old denim and plastic and cut out parts of the shoes, these are then sent to Uganda and a local makes them into shoes for the children. The Lockridge students donated all of the items required and the girls were able to send 20 sets of shoes to Sole Hope.
The Mount Lockyer students worked together in order to channel their strengths into a community project selling cupcakes to the school community to raise funds for local charity organisations. During the program the girls learnt about Human Rights, leadership and recognising their strengths.
